I have been interested in differing theories of consciousness and human identity for some time, and continue to explore these ideas in my work. I have primarily used the human figure as an allegorical basis for my investigations.
As my development continues through awareness and experience, perspectives shift and change, thoughts and concepts are discovered or renewed and this evolution becomes translated through my sculpture.
For me, this is the most interesting part about creating the work; the implied idea or gesture and the interpretation or understanding that results. It becomes a space between the artist and the viewer; the space of an unspoken conversation.
