Artist Statement

“Living in the information age, we (as a global society) are required to have a sophisticated and rich understanding of technologies and the way these technologies influence not only us as individuals but also our society. Almost every facet of society has been influenced by information technology.

Currently, I am pursuing my PhD degree in the field of Informatics which studies the impact technology has on people as a society and as individuals. Much in the same way we use Informatics to analyze the relationship of humans and information technology; in my art I am deconstructing the relationship between people and art by studying the basic elements of design such as shape, color, texture, value and size.

Using acrylic on canvas, each piece of work I create presents these individual design elements as complete compositions in themselves.”
