ARTIST STATEMENT:

“A work of art should be a revelation that explores the territory between the explicable and the inexplicable. As with any adventure, the process of painting is full of the potential unknown. For me, painting is connecting with something that is beneath the surface of experience, something mysterious, yet very real, that is made concrete by way of the alchemy of paint, the uniqueness of technique and image. Technique is the means to the end. The importance of formal training, experience and exposure cannot be denied but are subservient to originality and identity. I embrace the unknown. Something new is often revealed that is linked to what we already know or suspect.” - Dale Threlkeld
