Simon Maberley Biography
Sydney based sculptor and glass artist, Simon Maberley, began his studies at Sydney College of the Arts in 1993 and graduated in 1996. Later, he studied in the United States where he earned his MFA at Ohio State University in 2000. After his graduate studies, Maberley returned to Australia, where his work is
displayed in public and private collections. He also shows in the US.
Maberley enjoys travelling and collaborating with a number of well-respected artists. His travels have taken him across the US, UK, Italy, New Zealand, and Japan. Maberley has continued to study art and has taught and participated in workshops and residencies at the Sydney College of Arts, Canberra Glassworks, ANU School of Art, Ohio
State University, Pilchuck Glass School, Penland School of Crafts, and the Northlands Glass Centre.
In addition to creating his own pieces, Maberry often completes freelance work for other professional artists and designers. He is passionate about advocating for arts workers and professionals and supports his colleagues by serving on the boards of several organisations and institutions.
